The bug fixes are here

For some reason version 1.7.3 introduced an unexpected bug which would crash the application when viewing details about a movie without a date. This would happen in rare cases, but the new update will fix that.

Version 1.7.3.1 also fixes a bug that wasn’t introduced by me, but rather by a change in the API used for fetching movie backdrop images. This meant that users have been getting low quality backdrops when manually setting a backdrop.

I’ve also added support for two new things in this small update. One is that you can now use the “External SD Card” button in the file source browser if you’re using a Motorola Xoom. Another is the addition of Reddit Videos in the Web videos section of the application. Reddit’s API returns some low resolution thumbnails, so it doesn’t look that great, but it’s a cool feature for those of you using Reddit.

TL;DR: Here’s the change log:

  • Added support for the Motorola Xoom’s external SD card
  • Added support for Reddit Videos in Web videos
  • Fixed crash when viewing movie details without a date
  • Fixed backdrop bug and updated the backdrop browser

As always, you can find the update available on Android Market. The free Lite version is available here.

  1. Hi again Michell.

Great update, glad you fixed the issue with the backdrop art only downloading in hires. Any chance of sorting the poster art as well? Issue only occurs when manually selecting poster art. I’m guessing it’ll likely be another API issue with moviedb.

    • Oh boy, completely forgot about that. Yeah, it’s the same issue. Going to fix it later today. I’m such an arse… 🙂
