Do you have a Nexus S with Android 4.0?

If so, I’d love to hear from you! I’m looking for people with a Nexus S, who can test Mizuu their phone. If you’ve got one with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) and you’re willing to try out Mizuu on your phone, please leave a comment below with your correct e-mail address, and I’ll get back to you.

I need you to test:

  • Memory usage – does the application crash with extensive use? Mizuu was originally designed for devices with more memory than phones, so this is very important. If it crashes due to memory issues, it’s going to be more or less impossible for me to support older phones.
  • Usability issues – could something be made better?

I’ve only got the emulator to test with, and it’ll only get you so far. I can’t really test memory issues with the emulator.

So please – write a comment below if you’re interested or send me an e-mail. It’s very important that I can get quick feedback from you, so don’t apply if you haven’t got time for it.

I think we’ve got more than enough testers now, so I’ve closed comments for this post – thanks for your interest! 🙂

  1. I can help, Nexus S 4.0.3. Kernel is GLADOS 2.5 and Build number is NexusBeam v4.1.0 IML74K

    • Thanks, Chris. You’ve got mail 🙂

      • With light testing so far it looks very good. Only problem is absolutely every trailer i try to play with the app says it’s not supported, and works fine with MX Video Player. If it cannot play any of the trailers, it might work best not to give it as an option?

        • Mizuu is capable of playing some of the trailers, mainly the ones in .mp4 format. Most movies also include a YouTube trailer, so that should work on all phones as well. Some trailers are in .mov format, and that’s not natively supported by Android, so you’ll need a third party video player for these videos.

Overall, I’d rather give the option of showing 80-90% of the trailers without any third party players than not giving the option at all 🙂
