I’ve had two reports now regarding “randomly assigned titles and covers”. The latest one was in a review on Google Play. This is incredibly annoying for one main reason: There’s absolutely no way for me to get in touch with reviewers, so I can’t do anything about any potential issues because I can’t get back to you.
Now, regarding the “issue”. It’s simply impossible that Mizuu is the fault of any potential problems with differently assigned titles. Mizuu uses www.themoviedb.org for movie data – it’s a free and open database that anyone can edit and add content to. That’s the beauty of it. One of the downsides, however, is that content can sometimes be changed or even deleted, and there’s absolutely nothing that applications like Mizuu can do about that.
If you want to be 100% sure that your files are being correctly identified then make sure that the filenames match the name of the movie or TV show! This is the number one issue that people are having, and it’s easily solvable by either looking at the filename or searching the web and letting Google come up with the correct name for you. Mizuu is capable of working out a lot of filenames, but there are cases where it’s simply impossible to do. Example: You may know that “HP3” means “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, but odds are that your neighbour won’t. And Mizuu won’t know either.
Update! The movie database is having issues at the moment and this means that SOME VIDEOS WON’T BE CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED. If anyone’s experiencing issues with movie library updates, this is why. Like I said in the text above, this is not something I can do anything about and it’s not Mizuu’s fault.
