I’ll be releasing a small update soon, which will introduce more widget improvements and fix a few minor issues.
The widget design will be slightly updated, will now feature the option of manually updating the contents and the battery usage has been dramatically decreased. The previous version could cause your tablet to run out of battery juice very quickly, and that’s the main reason why I’m releasing this now and not at a later point. The new widgets will update roughly every 15 minutes – compared to the 30 seconds of the current version. You can manually update them as often as you’d like though, so I don’t think anyone’s missing out on anything here.
Here’s a closer look at the updated widget for movies:
Other improvements include fixing the video player screen timeout issue and improving compatibility with other video players. The explanation is rather technical, so I’ll just leave you with the promise of Mizuu soon being able to play videos in all your installed video players – like it’s supposed to do.
I’ve also been working on some other minor improvements. One of them is the fact that the movie overview no longer resets to the starting position when you change the cover art of a movie. It’ll still do it if you re-identify the movie, but not if you only change the cover art. TV show support will be added at a later point, and hopefully I’ll be able to make it work if you re-identify movies as well.
This minor update also means that free users will have to wait a tiny bit more on getting the latest updates and new features. More frequent updates is one of the benefits of using the paid version!
