Small update on network support

Just wanted to give you a brief update on what’s happening with network support. It’s still very much a tricky thing to do and I’m working with other developers to make it really good. There are lots of ways to implement it, but I want to make sure that I’m choosing the best possible way that’ll give the most bandwidth possible.

Some file explorers on Google Play support streaming of video files on network shares, but most of these stream the videos at very slow speeds. According to my tests, ES File Explorer is the best at streaming videos with very high bandwidth, and I want to achieve something similar to those speeds. There’s absolutely no point in having network support, if you’re going to be spending every other second buffering the video.

Anyway, that was just a brief update letting you guys know that I haven’t forgotten about it nor abandoned the project. All of this just comes at a very unfortunate time as I’m currently in the process of moving and getting my new apartment set up. Also, exams are just around the corner.

Thanks a lot for your patience – it’ll be good, I promise 🙂
