A brief update

Hi guys, hope you’re all enjoying yourselves with the latest beta build. It’s pretty speedy with the new movies overview, right?

I’ve been working a bit on some school work lately and then there was my birthday a week ago, so I haven’t had much time for anything in the last few days, but I just wanted to give you guys a brief update on what’s going on.

Today I received a Vizio Co-Star that runs Google TV. The purpose of this is naturally to make Mizuu run well on Google TV. I’m also expecting a Nexus 10 to drop by from the UK any day now, and the Nexus 4 is (hopefully) also on its way shortly. The demand has been incredibly high, so Google has chosen to prioritize a few large markets, and Denmark sadly isn’t one of them, so I’ll likely have to wait a bit for that one.

I’ve also got some good news regarding network support. The underlying code is pretty much ready for you guys to test out, so I just need to implement it into Mizuu. Not sure how long it’ll take, as I need to work on a great solution for securily storing usernames and passwords in the application.

Also – thanks a lot for the crash reports on the beta. It really does help a lot. It’s fairly easy to forget about something when you’re dealing with several thousand lines of code, while trying to maintain backwards compatibility.

PS. No ETA on the next beta version. Got tons of stuff to do, but I’ve fortunately got a lot of time in December to do it, so hopefully soon!

    • Don’t consider this a promise, but I think I should be able to add network support in the beta version before the end of the year πŸ™‚

        • Yes, of course. The beta version is a development version. Once it’s completed, all the changes will be merged into the paid and free versions, and the beta version will be removed from Google Play again.

  2. That’s good news fella. Network support is, for me, the only thong holding this App back. I’m now currently using Media House Pro which I like but there is no TV series support and the Muzuu UI is so much better. Mediabrowser UPNP has been left behind now. I’ve finally uninstalled that.

  3. Awesome to hear that you got the Google TV and that network support is coming! I’ve always been impressed with your app and I can’t wait for this feature to be implemented in it. As BoutTime is saying above, the UI is amazing and including the network support will do great things for this app. I think once you have it, you can put your price up a bit for the paid version and Google can put it as a featured app because it is by far the best media manager app out there.

On a side note: I was showing it to a friend who is in the Apple world, and he was like “Is there an ipad version?” I told him to switch to Android πŸ˜‰ hahaha

    • It’s my fault, I made a stupid mistake with titles like these. It’s going to be fixed.
