Version 1.7.3 is out, brings updated interface

Version 1.7.3 is out on Market, and it brings quite a few changes despite being a minor update.Β Here’s the change log:

  • Bug fixes
  • More TV show naming conventions
  • New widget (experimental – I need your feedback!)
  • Options to sort by availability & genre
  • Removed theme support (temporarily)
  • Tap outside dialogs to close
  • Updated About dialog
  • Updated layout for movies and TV shows

Get it now! The update for the Lite version is coming soon.

Update: Some have reported crashes when viewing movie details – I’m guessing this is when you enter a movie from the new widget, but please add a description in your report, describing how it occurred. It’s impossible for me to fix it otherwise!

  1. Hey Michell, was wondering what new naming conventions did you add for TV shows in this version? Thanks

        • What kind of convention were used with your files? I’ll see if I can add support for it πŸ™‚

          • Mine are ###.avi

First number in there is season number, second and third are episode number.

When there are four characters ####.avi

First two numbers are season number, third and fourth are episode number.

            Cheers!

  2. Hi, I’ve had crashes also when viewing some movie details. I don’t use the widget, this was from the app itself. One I can remember is Ultraman II, this has no fan art available for backdrop, so may be related to the crahes. This particular title always causes a crash now, was fine prior to update.

    • Just a quick update on this. Found the bug and I’m fixing it now. Have no idea why it’s happening now and not in the previous version, as I haven’t changed anything in that area of the code.

The crash occurs when there’s no data on what year the movie is from.

  3. Hi Michell,
I love the Mizuu interface! Do you have any idea on how long it would take to implement the NAS support? My sd card can not hold all my movies and shows…
    Cheers!

    • Hi Gustavo,

Thanks a lot! No idea on how long it’ll take, never done that sort of thing before, so I can only assume that it’ll take some time and that I’ll need to do some proper beta testing of it as well.

  4. Sorry for my bad Englisch.
Could you please add another db for german translation in the movie plot.

    • Hi Thomas,

There’s a setting in Mizuu that’ll let you use localized descriptions if they’re available. You can use that. Other than that, I won’t be able to add any databases right now, but I’m going to add a feature that’ll allow users to edit everything manually. You can also use .nfo files – see the FAQ for a guide on that.

  5. Hi again, found another bug. When manually selecting a cover art or backdrop it doesn’t download a hires version of the image now, only a low res version. The default images when adding a movie appear to be fine, this is just when changing them from the relevant gallery. Checked moviedb site and images are definitely there in hires. Worke fine in previous version. Any ideas?

    • Hi Alex

I’ll have a look at it, although it works perfectly on my tablet. I’ll release a new update today that includes some fixes and a few new features.

      • Good to hear new version will be today. If it helps when looking at image bug, I’m using an Asus Transformer and currently have over 230 movies added in Mizuu (using an external drive for storage). An example movie that doesn’t download manually selected images in hires is Closer, as before default images when adding movie are fine. If you need any more info let me know.

        • Just experienced it myself, but I can assure you that it wasn’t that way when I released the new version. Must be something to do with a change at themoviedb.org. I’ll check it out.

Update: Yep, they’ve changed parts of the API. I’ll just make some adjustments, and upload an update.

          • I don’t doubt it was fine at time of release, figured it would be something external. Glad you found source of problem. Looking forward to fixed version. πŸ™‚
