‘TV shows’ is getting a new look as well!

You’ve probably already seen the updated layout for movies, and I feel a lot of you like what you see. I’ve also decided to bring the same style to TV shows, and here’s a sneak peak at how it looks.

Again, I think it’s much cooler to have these great backdrop images. I think it looks so much better. As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts :)

Here’s a sneak peak!

I’ve been working on redesigning the movie details view to make it simpler and make backdrop images stand more out. You’ll find a screenshot of the current progress below.

This concept will remove actor details and fanart from the details view, and instead add buttons to view these things. This will make the viewing experience a lot better, as the application will be able to put all the screen estate to full use - excellent for browsing photos and such.

Several other parts of the user interface will be updated with time. The goal is to make the application interface as simple and easy to use as possible. Here’s another screenshot:

As always I’m eager to hear what you think :-)

What’s happening next?

Upcoming improvements

The next update will be ready in a few days or so. There’ll be a few bug fixes and small improvements and changes. Justin.tv support will also be added in Web videos, and there’ll be some visual improvements in here as well. One important change though is the improved file sources management.

The next update greatly improves on the current way of managing file sources - i.e. the folders that Mizuu will scan for files when updating - and it’s now very easy to see which folders are related to Movies and which are related to TV shows.

The change also makes it considerably easier to add additional functionality in future updates, i.e. support for network attached storage devices.
