Here’s a sneak peak. Like I’ve said earlier on, it’s only going to be possible to manually identify one episode at a time in this version. The 1.8 update will change that and a bunch of other things. Anyway, it’s super simple to manually identify a TV show episode - just hit “Identify episode” in the context menu, enter the name of the correct show as well as season and episode number (if the automatically filled ones aren’t correct) and search for it. When you find it, just tap on the result and it’ll update the episode.

‘TV shows’ is getting a new look as well!
You’ve probably already seen the updated layout for movies, and I feel a lot of you like what you see. I’ve also decided to bring the same style to TV shows, and here’s a sneak peak at how it looks.
Again, I think it’s much cooler to have these great backdrop images. I think it looks so much better. As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts
Custom cover art in TV shows
This is a requested feature and I would of course love to make it possible, but there are a few things holding me back, and I’d like to get your feedback on it.
The big difference between movies and TV shows is that there’s just one entry with a movie and multiple entries with a TV show and all its episodes.
In Movies, you simply name the custom cover art file the same as your video file, and you’re done. But what about TV show files? If you have multiple files, which one of them should you base the filename of? Just any of them or one? Or perhaps the name of the TV show itself?
Feel free to bring your feedback in the comments - thanks!
PS. I didn’t really have a photo to go with this post, so I thought I’d just post a picture of my dog wearing an Android t-shirt. He’s so cute in it!
TV shows showing up in Movies?
A few people have sent me e-mails regarding an issue - their TV shows are showing up in Movies without any details and not in TV Shows, where they’re supposed to be.
Fortunately the solution is quite simple and straight forward.
The Movies section of the application has its own set of file sources, and likewise does the TV Shows section of the app. If you want something to show up in the Movies section, you simply add your file sources there. If you want it to show up in TV Shows, you add it there.
I know it’s not as user-friendly as it could be, and I am going to improve it, but that’s how it works right now. Hopefully this will help you, if you’re experiencing the same problem.
